Peace is a state of being calm or quiet without war or unpleasant noise. Peace in its diversity affects our lives either directly or indirectly. For peaceful co-existence, knowledge of peace is primary and paramount.
Peace club in Tenwek continues to spread the aroma of peace in the Tenwek community to date. The club’s vision is to make Tenwek high school a community that values, creates, promotes and protects peace. The club will aim to develop, sustain and promotes a culture of peace among students, teachers and sub-ordinate staff and external persons, the environment included. This will be done through acquisition of conflict and peace building skills, development activities, posters, competition of drama pieces on peace, peace days, and tree planting and communal voluntary work.
Lastly, I want to relay a message of peace. Always have a peace of mind with yourself and society at large. Aspire to keep peace so that nobody disturbs the peace. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
To Kenyans, I say: cherish and protect peace for the sake of the young generation.
